Everyone was afraid of the dark at some point in their lives. It was the fear of the unknown; Darkness conceals the horrors in which your demons thrive in. The dark is something to fear and also embrace. Sure it contains your darkest deepest fears but it also makes sure it stays there. Imagine every hour of the day is filled with every fear that's been building up inside. That is pure torture. The dark is misunderstood, Where have you seen a monster when you're happy and laughing. The dark keeps it locked up with every other fear you have.
