As a child I never liked any sort of celebration, be it a birthday or a welcome home even, I treat it as just another day. When my parents urge me to come to a gathering or meeting I would just make reasons or some BS just to escape having to meet people. I would say I am sort of a introvert though I ... Actually, am I an introvert? My God, I am. That would explain me hiding from people outside the door. I should learn to socialize.
